National Angel Capital Organization

NACO is the National Community for Angels, Incubators, and Accelerators. We foster investment in early-stage companies to facilitate growth and success across Canada. The National Angel Capital Organization (NACO) helps turn good ideas into great businesses. As the only national industry association comprised of 45 regional Angel investment groups, and 40 Accelerators and Incubators, NACO enables collaboration, partnership opportunities and faster access to Canada’s investment ecosystem. By connecting individuals, groups, and other partners that support early-stage investing, NACO accelerates a thriving, early-stage investment ecosystem. NACO provides intelligence, tools, and resources for its members; facilitates key connections across networks, borders and industries; and helps to inform policy affecting the Angel asset-class.

National Research Council Canada – Youth Employment Programs

You could receive a financial contribution towards the salary of a post-secondary graduate to help you research, develop and commercialize new technologies, or to hire a youth to work on a green project. To be eligible, your business needs to:   Be incorporated and for-profit Share a portion of the salary costs Have 500 or fewer full-time employees Be ready to enhance its innovation capacity   The duration of the internship must be between 6 and 12 months for graduates and between 3 to 6 months for Youth-Green candidates. Candidates must be between the ages of 15 and 30.

Nova Scotia Innovation Hub

The Nova Scotia Innovation Hub has a mission to create and promote best-in-class, investment ready conditions for a low-carbon, bioresource economy. It works with businesses in the bioresource space who are interested in establishing or growing their operations in Nova Scotia by providing: Detailed information on the raw materials available from industries in the forestry, agricultural, oceans, and municipal solid waste sectors and potential market opportunities Access to its expansive network of partners in the feedstock, manufacturing, marketing, and financial service industries Financial and in-kind support to help our clients with mission critical projects

NRC – Challenge Programs

Consistent with Canada’s vision for science and building on the Innovation and Skills Plan, the government is transforming and re tooling Canadian innovation programs to better support Canada’s innovators. Challenge Programs include: Novel Materials for Clean and Sustainable Energy – to develop new materials for clean and sustainable sources of energy High-throughput and Secure Networks – to develop high performance, affordable and secure communication for rural and remote communities Health – to develop disruptive technologies to significantly improve health outcomes Artificial Intelligence for Design – a foundation of AI tools, technologies and capabilities to support the above three mission areas

NRC – EUREKA

EUREKA is an international network for market-driven industrial R&D that includes over 40 economies from the EU, Europe, Israel, South Korea, and now Canada. Through Canada’s associate membership in EUREKA, Canadian innovators have a new advantage in accessing technology, expertise, and markets in Europe and beyond. With the goal of increasing competitiveness in world markets, EUREKA brings together small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), large companies, research centres, universities, and other innovators from EUREKA countries to work together on market-driven industrial R&D.

NSCC – Advisory Assistance for International Business/Marketing Plans

NSCC, Marconi Campus offers a Consulting Assistance Program where companies can hire a qualified consultant to work on international business/marketing plans. NSCC students can also assist with the development of international business and marketing plans free of charge.

NSCC Applied Research develops practical and innovative solutions for industry’s real-world problems. With an expert research team and network of faculty and students from some of our most challenging and cutting-edge programs, we help industry improve their products, enhance processes, and grow their businesses. NSCC has well-equipped facilities which provide us with the tools to contribute to the development of new technologies that we can transfer to our partners.
