ACOA – Business Development Program

The BDP can help you expand or modernize your business. It can also provide funding to develop your innovative ideas, improve your competitiveness, and develop clean technology projects. Designed to assist with the financing of your project, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The program offers access to interest free repayable assistance.

Advancing Innovative Technologies 2019-2020

The Advancing Innovative Technologies initiative will support the adoption of new technologies, processes or specialized equipment. Through the assessment, implementation or adoption, all projects should improve farm and industry competitiveness, productivity & profitability.

AgriInnovate Program

The AgriInnovate Program aims to accelerate the commercialization, adoption and/or demonstration of innovative products, technologies, processes or services that increase sector competitiveness and sustainability.

BIONOVA – Technical Assistance Program (TAP)

TAP allows life sciences SMEs to apply for small project funding to engage technical expertise that is not available within their company. The technical expertise received is intended to allow the company to overcome an immediate challenge that is acting as a barrier to commercialization. This program provides direct financial assistance for approved projects that seek to resolve an issue that is hampering product development, and is critical to commercialization. Projects that will be considered include those that engage a subject matter expert to help with: science and / or engineering challenge experiment design prototype development advice other assistance of a technical nature that cannot be solved with in-house expertise

In Budget 2021, the Government of Canada announced the $4 billion Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) to help get your business online, give your e-commerce presence a boost or help digitalize your business’s operations.

Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design- Website Development

Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design (CBCCD) may provide financial assistance to craft producers who wish to participate in website development that will help to further promote their products and businesses. The level of non-repayable assistance will be up to 75% of the costs to a maximum of $5,000 for new websites and up to 75% of the costs to a maximum of $2,000 for an existing website. The eligible costs for assistance for website development are for the development of new websites or the enhancement of a craft producer’s existing website.

Clean Tech Internships

Employers can hire an intern for 6-12 months in a full-time position related to the use or development of clean tech, and CICan will contribute up to 70% of the intern’s salary, to a maximum of $15,000. Eligible employers must have an established payroll system, a process for supervising and mentoring interns, and be a Canadian company or subsidiary in one of the following categories:   Post-secondary education institution Indigenous organization or association Small- or medium-sized enterprise (SME), less than 500 employees Large corporation, more than 500 employee Non-government organization (NGO) Not-for-profit organization Municipal or local government Provincial or territorial government, institution, agency or Crown corporation

ECO Canada – Environmental Youth Corps Internship Program

If your business is in the science, technology, engineering or mathematics fields, you may be eligible to hire a young professional for a full-time environmental position. As the leading provider of employment programs that contribute to the development of the environmental workforce for the past 20 years, we are the source for employers and candidates to receive wage funding support. Our program gives eligible employers who work in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or Natural Resources up to 50% of a candidate’s salary for new full-time environmental jobs. Employers may use this program to fund multiple new positions. Funding will be pro-rated dependent upon start date. The program offers:   A wage subsidy up to $15,000 Pre-approved, skilled graduates

Environment and Climate Change Canada – Science Horizons Youth Internship Program

If your business or not-for-profit organization undertakes STEM projects, you could receive up to $15,000 to hire an intern for at least 6 months. Priority will be given to projects with an environmental focus. Eligible organizations must:   Provide a mentor for the intern Provide at least 50% of project costs   Employers can apply through one of the 5 delivery organizations: Bio Talent Canada Clean Foundation Colleges and Institutes Canada ECO Canada Mitacs
