Canada’s anti-spam legislation

If you use electronic channels to promote or market your business or non-profit-organization, Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL) may affect you. Enforcement of CASL is a shared responsibility. It is important for you, as a business owner, to familiarize yourself with your obligations and explore information on the legislation from each of the responsible government departments. The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) is responsible for investigating the sending of unsolicited commercial electronic messages, the alteration of transmission data and the installation of software without consent.
