NSCC, Marconi Campus offers a Consulting Assistance Program where companies can hire a qualified consultant to work on international business/marketing plans. NSCC students can also assist with the development of international business and marketing plans free of charge.

NSERC- Applied Research and Development Grants

Applied Research and Development Grants support well-defined applied research and development projects undertaken by college researchers with their private-sector partners. Direct project costs are shared by the company partner(s) and the CCI Program. Projects may range from one year to three years in duration. Grants range from up to $75,000 per year to $150,000 per year.

NSERC-Alliance Grants

Alliance grants encourage university researchers to collaborate with partner organizations, which can be from the private, public or not-for-profit sectors. These grants support research projects led by strong, complementary, collaborative teams that will generate new knowledge and accelerate the application of research results to create benefits for Canada. Grants range from $5,000 – $25,000. Research supported by Alliance grants will: Generate new knowledge and/or technology to address complex challenges Create economic, social and/or environmental benefits Contribute to Canada’s long-term competitiveness Support public policy Train new researchers in areas that are important to Canada and to the partner organizations Draw on diverse perspectives and skill sets to accelerate the translation and application of research results

Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy

The OSB is responsible for administration of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA), as well as certain duties under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). We license and regulate the insolvency profession, ensure an efficient and effective regulatory framework, supervise stakeholder compliance with the insolvency process, and maintain public records and statistics.

OHS-Employee Orientation

Orientation (sometimes called an induction) is the process of introducing new, inexperienced, and transferred workers to the organization, their supervisors, co-workers, work areas, and jobs, and especially to health and safety. Providing training and extra assistance during the initial period of employment is critical, regardless of the age of the employee, as they are not familiar with the hazards of the job or the workplace. During this phase, each worker develops the knowledge, skills, and abilities that are necessary to work in a safe and healthy manner.

Perennia – Small Farm Outreach Program

Nova Scotia has one of the highest numbers of small farms and new farm entrants in Canada. To connect these organic and conventional producers with the resources they need, and to answer basic production questions, Perennia offers information and workshops to address issues they may be challenged with. This program is aimed at those producers who grow crops or raise livestock on a scale where they just reach the threshold of being a registered farm ($10,000 in gross sales) but are seeking information to grow their farm business slowly since they may not have anyone working the farm full-time, or just starting their farm operation.

Perennia Product Development/Innovation Centre

The Perennia Innovation Centre is food and food-based product development, improvement and small pilot processing facility in Bible Hill, Nova Scotia. The Centre is a 25,000 sq. ft. green facility following Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) principles. It has a provincially-inspected pilot plant, and food product development laboratory and analytical and microbiological labs and start up lease space for business incubation. Perennia food scientists and research associates work with established and new agrifood, beverage and seafood businesses to create new products, or improve current products or processes.

Perennia Training Services

Perennia’s team develops and delivers workshops, field days, tours, short courses, training sessions and conferences, often in partnership with industry or government. Perennia has a number of workshops and training topics that can be customized or delivered by our specialists and associates to your group, agency or company.
