Clean Tech Internships

Employers can hire an intern for 6-12 months in a full-time position related to the use or development of clean tech, and CICan will contribute up to 70% of the intern’s salary, to a maximum of $15,000. Clean Technology Initiative

Do you want to modernize your business practices to be more environmentally friendly? Or do you have an idea for a clean technology process, product, and/or service that reduces negative environmental impacts? CBDC can provide up to $150,000 per eligible borrower, in the form of a repayable loan with competitive interest rates and repayment terms. All loans will be secured where appropriate. Loans can be from one year to ten years, giving you time to grow your business.

In addition to the loan product, a Clean Technology Fund will be established with a Clean Technology Advisory Services component that will assist small- and medium-sized enterprises and social enterprises to assess clean technology solutions for their businesses. These services will allow small businesses and social enterprises to hire professional outside expertise to assist them in addressing timely issues, opportunities and/or challenges related to their use of clean technologies.

If your business is in the science, technology, engineering or mathematics fields, you may be eligible to hire a young professional for a full-time environmental position. As the leading provider of employment programs that contribute to the development of the environmental workforce for the past 20 years, we are the source for employers and candidates to receive wage funding support. Our program gives eligible employers who work in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or Natural Resources up to 50% of a candidate’s salary for new full-time environmental jobs. You could receive a financial contribution towards the salary of a post-secondary graduate to help you research, develop and commercialize new technologies, or to hire a youth to work on a green project. We support Canadian companies with the potential to become world leaders in their efforts to develop and demonstrate new environmental technologies that address climate change, clean air, clean water and clean soil. Interested in finding out more about who is eligible and how to apply? On average 33% (up to 40%) of eligible projects costs The average contribution is $3 million, with funds disbursed in five years or less. 25% of the eligible costs must be funded through private sector contributions (including in-kind).
