FCC – Agribusiness and Agrifood Financing

FCC Agribusiness and Agri-Food provides specialized financial services, products and resources for businesses that support primary producers on both sides of the farm gate. Support can help you to minimize operating costs, diversify assets or expand your business.

FCC Women Entrepreneur Program

FCC is committed to empowering women in agriculture, agribusiness and agri-food. Through the Women Entrepreneur Program, FCC has dedicated $500 million over the next three years in lending, enhancing events and creating resources specifically for women entrepreneurs to start or grow their business. Assistance includes access to financing, value-added offerings for skill set enhancement and connections to people and organizations across the industry.

Financing

Futurpreneur Canada supports young entrepreneurs with up to $45,000 in financing, an expert business mentor for up to two years, and resources to help you plan, manage and grow your business.

Food and Beverage Atlantic

Known as the Atlantic Food & Beverage Processors Association since 2007, it remains dedicated to a legacy of supporting and helping the processing industry grow in Atlantic Canada. FBA continues to expand its activities in key programs including delivering affordable, accessible food safety and regulatory training programs, industry conferences and leading export trade missions in the United States, Latin America, Asia, India and Europe.

Food Hygiene (Handling) Courses

Food safety courses are for those who handle and work with food regularly, like those in the food service industry. Some are recognized by the Department and some are not. Legislation requires that at least one person per shift must have a food safety training course. It is strongly recommended that all people on the job have this training. The certificate must be renewed every five years.

Futurpreneur Canada Newcomer Financing Program

If you’re new to Canada and don’t have a credit history, Futurpreneur Canada wants to help you launch your business. We provide tailored support and eligibility criteria to reflect your new status in Canada. Using character-based lending, our program for newcomers provides greater flexibility than most banks. But we can’t do it alone. We’re able to finance up to $7,500 per business. If you need more money, BDC may provide up to another $7,500. Eligibility requirements apply.
